Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Insurance, Banking and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 2.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 13.54% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 10.00% or 0.030 points to end at 0.300 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 9.85% or 0.13 points to 1.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which fell 29.17% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.26 at the close. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 8.14% or 0.057 points to end at 0.700 and Euroconsultants SA (AT:ERCr) was down 6.90% or 0.1000 points to 1.3500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 56 to 41 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) fell to all time lows; down 29.17% or 0.10 to 0.26.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.59% or 6.30 to $1069.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.25% or 0.09 to hit $35.53 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.09% or 0.80 to trade at $37.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1045, while EUR/GBP rose 0.99% to 0.7298.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 97.36.
