Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 1.00% or 0.0110 points to trade at 1.1070 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 0.17% or 0.0030 points to end at 1.7650 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.579 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 5.36% or 0.0021 points to trade at 0.0371 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 3.30% or 0.3700 points to end at 10.8400 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 2.99% or 0.0900 points to 2.9220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 36 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.92% or 0.88 to $44.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.75% or 1.23 to hit $43.55 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.52% or 6.70 to trade at $1289.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.1522, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7919.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 92.79.
