Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Commercial Service And Supplies, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Gjensidige Forsikring ASA (OL:GJFS), which rose 1.99% or 2.7 points to trade at 138.7 at the close. Orkla ASA (OL:ORK) added 1.41% or 1.00 points to end at 72.15 and Telenor ASA (OL:TEL) was up 1.34% or 1.7 points to 128.9 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which lost 4.13% or 0.94 points to trade at 21.81 in late trade. TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS) declined 3.14% or 3.9 points to end at 120.4 and Akastor ASA (OL:AKAS) shed 2.03% or 0.2 points to 9.7.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 101 to 77 and 18 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $48.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.74% or 0.37 to hit $49.46 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1287.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.33% to 9.3416, while USD/NOK fell 0.62% to 8.3104.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 94.78.
