Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 11.11% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 4.52% or 0.019 points to end at 0.439 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 3.30% or 0.015 points to 0.470 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 3.49% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.166 in late trade. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 2.54% or 0.520 points to end at 19.980 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 2.07% or 0.120 points to 5.680.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 18 to 10 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.82% or 0.69 to $38.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.00% or 0.40 to hit $40.45 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 1.72% or 21.90 to trade at $1250.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.46% to 3.4247, while EUR/PEN rose 0.77% to 3.8058.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 96.21.
