Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Telia Company AB (HE:TELIA1), which rose 2.30% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.558 at the close. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) added 0.41% or 0.040 points to end at 9.745 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 0.06% or 0.02 points to 32.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which lost 3.87% or 0.58 points to trade at 14.41 in late trade. UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM1V) declined 3.46% or 0.76 points to end at 21.20 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) shed 3.18% or 0.2300 points to 7.0100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 128 to 48 and 14 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.62% or 1.20 to $44.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.73% or 1.22 to hit $43.44 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 2.57% or 32.55 to trade at $1233.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.0836, while EUR/GBP fell 0.88% to 0.8604.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 99.10.
