Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 3.22% or 0.3650 points to trade at 11.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Semapa (LS:SEM) added 1.09% or 0.1200 points to end at 11.1200 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 0.48% or 0.0330 points to 6.8710 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 3.35% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.2310 at the close. Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) declined 1.38% or 0.0070 points to end at 0.5000 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 1.20% or 0.0170 points to 1.3980.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 21 to 11 and 22 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 3.50% or 1.15 to $31.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 4.82% or 1.55 to hit $30.64 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.92% or 10.10 to trade at $1106.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.0828, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.7602.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 99.49.
