Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which rose 7.83% or 0.2760 points to trade at 3.8000 at the close. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) added 6.41% or 0.202 points to end at 3.354 and Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HE:NRE1V) was up 2.71% or 0.81 points to 30.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tieto Oyj (HE:TIE1V), which lost 2.16% or 0.54 points to trade at 24.43 in late trade. Nordea Bank AB (publ) FDR (HE:NDA1V) declined 1.40% or 0.135 points to end at 9.515 and Kesko Oyj B (HE:KESBV) shed 1.10% or 0.42 points to 37.93.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 78 and 10 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for May delivery was up 2.60% or 1.05 to $41.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 3.93% or 1.51 to hit $39.97 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 2.87% or 35.30 to trade at $1265.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.84% to 1.1319, while EUR/GBP fell 0.75% to 0.7812.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.98% at 94.76.
