Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which rose 2.67% or 0.141 points to trade at 5.415 at the close. Ferrovial (MC:FER) added 2.04% or 0.370 points to end at 18.550 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.64% or 0.185 points to 11.465 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popular (MC:POP), which lost 3.70% or 0.047 points to trade at 1.223 in late trade. Bankia (MC:BKIA) declined 2.46% or 0.017 points to end at 0.675 and Repsol (MC:REP) shed 1.87% or 0.220 points to 11.545.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 80 and 32 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.50 to $1327.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.02% or 0.44 to hit $42.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $44.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0987, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8367.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 97.17.
