Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Sacyr (MC:SCYR), which rose 13.34% or 0.183 points to trade at 1.555 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 9.66% or 0.369 points to end at 4.187 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 6.84% or 0.640 points to 10.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inditex (MC:ITX), which lost 1.47% or 0.435 points to trade at 29.265 in late trade. FCC (MC:FCC) added 0.07% or 0.005 points to end at 7.573 and Enagas (MC:ENAG) gained 0.19% or 0.050 points to 25.990.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 146 to 37 and 26 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.49% or 6.40 to $1292.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.83% or 1.31 to hit $47.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.18% or 1.50 to trade at $48.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7873.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 94.38.
