Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were NN Group NV (AS:NN), which rose 1.82% or 0.57 points to trade at 31.96 at the close. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) added 1.00% or 0.75 points to end at 75.65 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was up 0.85% or 0.45 points to 53.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which lost 4.91% or 0.76 points to trade at 14.71 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.15% or 1.680 points to end at 76.280 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) shed 1.73% or 4.05 points to 230.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 40 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.43% to 13.89.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.84% or 0.41 to $49.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.79% or 0.41 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.46% or 5.79 to trade at $1252.91 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1128, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8562.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 97.52.
