Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Plantations sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Royal Palms Beach Hotels PLC (CM:RPBH), which rose 17.11% or 6.50 points to trade at 44.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT) added 13.82% or 3.40 points to end at 28.00 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was up 13.25% or 227.00 points to 1940.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) declined 10.00% or 0.20 points to end at 2.00 and Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) was down 9.19% or 3.40 points to 33.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 125 to 97 and 14 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.31% or 0.16 to $51.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.82% or 0.47 to hit $56.63 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.82% or 20.60 to trade at $1111.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.45% to 209.850, while USD/LKR rose 0.50% to 134.545.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 98.10.
