Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Technology and Information Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which rose 4.26% or 11.90 points to trade at 291.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) added 3.91% or 0.77 points to end at 20.48 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) was up 1.71% or 0.58 points to 34.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which fell 4.99% or 0.380 points to trade at 7.230 at the close. Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME) declined 4.30% or 0.16 points to end at 3.56 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was down 4.17% or 0.010 points to 0.230.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 286 to 113 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) rose to all time highs; up 3.91% or 0.77 to 20.48.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.31% or 3.30 to $1057.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.90% or 0.76 to hit $40.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.74% or 1.17 to trade at $43.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.14% to 2.8933, while EUR/TRY rose 2.84% to 3.1574.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.83% at 98.21.
