United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 0.36%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Services, Telecoms and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.36%, while the ADX General index lost 0.57%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 2.05% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.648 at the close. Meanwhile, Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) added 1.56% or 0.02 points to end at 1.30 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 1.31% or 0.008 points to 0.619 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 2.46% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.317 at the close. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 2.26% or 0.019 points to end at 0.821 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was down 2.05% or 0.040 points to 1.910.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which rose 3.09% to 3.00, Ad Islamic Bk (AD:ADIB) which was up 1.75% to settle at 5.22 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which gained 0.82% to close at 2.45.

The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 5.56% to 0.680 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 3.51% to settle at 0.550 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 2.99% to 0.650 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 8; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 11 fell and 5 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.94% or 1.56 to $51.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.30% or 1.31 to hit $55.84 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.19% or 13.90 to trade at $1152.70 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.93% to 4.0228.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.80% at 97.20.
