Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 2.25%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Acerinox (MC:ACX), which rose 13.42% or 1.084 points to trade at 9.159 at the close. Meanwhile, Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 8.16% or 0.214 points to end at 2.835 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 6.71% or 0.553 points to 8.788 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Enagas (MC:ENAG), which fell 1.04% or 0.260 points to trade at 24.755 at the close. Abertis Infr (MC:ABE) declined 0.88% or 0.110 points to end at 12.330 and Iberdrola (MC:IBE) was down 0.81% or 0.048 points to 5.877.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 136 to 69 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.87% or 10.80 to $1237.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 10.38% or 2.72 to hit $28.93 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 8.75% or 2.63 to trade at $32.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.76% to 1.1237, while EUR/GBP fell 0.81% to 0.7760.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 96.07.
