Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP), which rose 12.64% or 0.0055 points to trade at 0.0490 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BPI (LISBON:BBPI) added 7.94% or 0.0750 points to end at 1.0190 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 5.56% or 0.0002 points to 0.0038 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which fell 1.95% or 0.0370 points to trade at 1.8620 at the close. Semapa (LISBON:SEM) declined 1.77% or 0.2050 points to end at 11.3800 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was down 1.26% or 0.01 points to 0.62.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 21 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.26% or 0.01 to 0.62.
Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.61% or 0.29 to $48.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.12 to hit $45.21 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1114.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1193, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.7384.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 96.22.
