Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment, Financials and Public Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP added 0.31% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp (CN:PRU), which rose 15.76% or 260.0 points to trade at 1910.0 at the close. Grupo Argos SA (CN:ARG) added 2.67% or 520.0 points to end at 20000.0 and Bcolombia (CN:BIC) was up 2.08% or 500.0 points to 24500.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemargos (CN:CCB), which lost 4.17% or 500.0 points to trade at 11480.0 in late trade. Cementos Argos Pf (CN:CCB_p) declined 1.87% or 200.0 points to end at 10480.0 and Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p) shed 1.32% or 25.0 points to 1870.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 10 and 4 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for May delivery was up 0.37% or 0.47 to $127.42 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in May fell 0.35% or 10.50 to hit $2953.50 , while the June Gold contract rose 0.41% or 5.00 to trade at $1233.60 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was down 0.50% to 3000.00, while BRL/COP fell 0.17% to 835.49.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 94.61.
