Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 3.13% or 0.0070 points to trade at 0.2310 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.12% or 0.0730 points to end at 6.5800 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.08% or 0.0002 points to 0.0187 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP (LS:EDP), which lost 3.30% or 0.1010 points to trade at 2.9590 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.96% or 0.1020 points to end at 3.3440 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.47% or 0.0180 points to 0.7120.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 33 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 3.16% or 1.58 to $48.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.86% or 1.36 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.65 to trade at $1335.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1214, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8455.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.42% at 95.44.
