Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 3.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which rose 13.92% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.360 at the close. Korres (AT:KRRr) added 3.99% or 0.140 points to end at 3.650 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 2.11% or 0.040 points to 1.940 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which lost 10.77% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.174 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 9.86% or 0.014 points to end at 0.128 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) shed 6.63% or 0.120 points to 1.690.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 18 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.07% or 12.60 to $1191.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.15% or 0.99 to hit $47.05 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.14% or 1.03 to trade at $49.27 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.0604, while EUR/GBP rose 0.49% to 0.8532.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 101.27.
