Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Holding Firms, Property and Banking & Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite lost 2.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which rose 2.93% or 0.290 points to trade at 10.200 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 1.37% or 1.5000 points to end at 110.8000 and First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) was up 0.40% or 0.10 points to 25.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC), which lost 6.73% or 0.820 points to trade at 11.360 in late trade. Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI) declined 4.69% or 0.320 points to end at 6.510 and Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) shed 3.72% or 2.900 points to 75.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 81 and 47 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.25 to $1318.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.96% or 0.42 to hit $43.49 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.99% or 0.46 to trade at $46.13 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.42% to 7.1743, while USD/PHP rose 0.34% to 47.860.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 95.36.
