Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Banking and Auto & components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.93% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL), which rose 12.41% or 7.1 points to trade at 64.3 at the close. Meanwhile, Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) added 11.29% or 3.79 points to end at 37.37 and Aker Solutions OL (OSLO:AKSOL) was up 10.05% or 3.46 points to 37.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OSLO:NWC), which fell 4.77% or 16.5 points to trade at 329.5 at the close. Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OSLO:RCLo) declined 4.23% or 32.5 points to end at 736.0 and Opera Software ASA (OSLO:OPERA) was down 1.57% or 0.72 points to 45.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 102 to 81 and 4 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.58% or 0.28 to $48.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.28% or 0.14 to hit $51.77 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1146.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.98% to 9.2376, while USD/NOK fell 0.77% to 8.2119.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 95.58.
