Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.56% to hit a new 5-year high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 2.54% or 5.40 points to trade at 218.30 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.46% or 0.205 points to end at 8.535 and KPN Kon (AS:KPN) was up 1.92% or 0.053 points to 2.818 in late trade.
Biggest losers included DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which lost 1.03% or 0.65 points to trade at 62.50 in late trade. Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) declined 1.00% or 0.76 points to end at 75.09 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 0.89% or 0.19 points to 21.05.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 31 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.59% to 11.06.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.33% or 0.16 to $48.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $51.66 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 2.17% or 26.10 to trade at $1226.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.0729, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.8676.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 100.26.
