Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Snam (MI:SRG), which rose 2.88% or 0.145 points to trade at 5.175 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 1.81% or 0.35 points to end at 19.66 and ENI (MI:ENI) was up 1.80% or 0.2400 points to 13.6100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Popolare (MI:BAPO), which lost 14.19% or 1.1050 points to trade at 6.6800 in late trade. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) declined 6.60% or 0.330 points to end at 4.670 and Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) shed 6.11% or 0.435 points to 6.680.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 242 to 159 and 20 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 3.77% or 1.45 to $39.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.41% or 0.97 to hit $41.30 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 2.93% or 36.00 to trade at $1265.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.88% to 1.1324, while EUR/GBP fell 0.72% to 0.7814.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.01% at 94.73.
