Investing.com – Norway stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Consumer Durables And Apparel and Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX fell 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which rose 17.58% or 1.51 points to trade at 10.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Schibsted ASA A (OL:SBSTA) added 3.55% or 10.0 points to end at 291.6 and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (OL:RCLo) was up 2.80% or 23.0 points to 844.5 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE), which fell 10.27% or 3.8 points to trade at 32.8 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) declined 7.09% or 2.6 points to end at 34.2 and Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL) was down 6.06% or 1.92 points to 29.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 106 to 77 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OL:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.27% or 3.8 to 32.8. Shares in Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) fell to 5-year lows; losing 7.09% or 2.6 to 34.2.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.25% or 0.80 to $34.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.49% or 0.18 to hit $37.20 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 2.37% or 25.50 to trade at $1051.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.89% to 9.4746, while USD/NOK rose 0.24% to 8.7657.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.90% at 99.29.
