Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure, Banking and Diversified Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Renewable Energy Corporation ASA (OSLO:REC), which rose 9.04% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OSLO:GOGLT) added 5.90% or 1.70 points to end at 30.50 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OSLO:PGS) was up 4.57% or 1.79 points to 40.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE), which fell 2.99% or 1.6 points to trade at 50.4 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OSLO:SDRL) declined 1.42% or 1.1 points to end at 76.5 and Statoil ASA (OSLO:STL) was down 1.30% or 1.8 points to 136.2.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 109 to 66 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fred. Olsen Energy ASA (OSLO:FOE) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.99% or 1.6 to 50.4.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.13% or 0.07 to $52.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.31% or 0.18 to hit $58.82 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1156.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.32% to 8.8968, while USD/NOK rose 0.85% to 8.0710.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.91% at 96.83.
