Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.49% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 2.49% or 0.0400 points to trade at 1.6490 at the close. Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) added 2.47% or 0.1340 points to end at 5.5670 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 2.07% or 0.0170 points to 0.8390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 7.43% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.3240 in late trade. Montepio (LS:MPIO) declined 4.42% or 0.019 points to end at 0.411 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 0.99% or 0.1350 points to 13.5500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 1.17% or 0.66 to $56.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.51% or 0.81 to hit $54.59 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1239.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.0548, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 101.37.
