Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Diversified Holdings and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 28.57% or 0.2000 points to trade at 0.9000 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 21.67% or 65.00 points to end at 365.00 and Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) was up 15.97% or 9.90 points to 71.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which lost 15.00% or 15.00 points to trade at 85.00 in late trade. Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) declined 11.39% or 0.90 points to end at 7.00 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) shed 7.69% or 50.00 points to 600.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 97 to 82 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.05% or 0.02 to $43.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.24% or 0.11 to hit $45.93 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.40% or 5.45 to trade at $1344.55 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 188.600, while USD/LKR rose 0.09% to 145.570.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.83.
