Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were NN Group (AS:NN), which rose 5.01% or 1.51 points to trade at 31.62 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 2.45% or 0.12 points to end at 4.94 and Aegon (AS:AEGN) was up 2.44% or 0.131 points to 5.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OCI (AS:OCI), which fell 4.90% or 1.235 points to trade at 23.980 at the close. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.74% or 0.55 points to end at 14.04 and Gemalto (AS:GTO) was down 1.21% or 0.71 points to 57.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 125 to 46 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in NN Group (AS:NN) rose to all time highs; rising 5.01% or 1.51 to 31.62.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.70% to 22.54.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.81% or 0.34 to $41.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $44.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.13% or 12.10 to trade at $1080.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.0735, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.7015.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 99.02.
