Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.92%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which rose 0.72% or 3.13 points to trade at 439.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 0.60% or 0.08 points to end at 13.45 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 0.29% or 0.12 points to 42.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which fell 6.54% or 0.35 points to trade at 5.00 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) declined 5.40% or 4.63 points to end at 81.16 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was down 4.83% or 0.66 points to 13.01.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 370 to 186 and 112 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 3.22% or 1.51 to $45.45 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.87% or 0.92 to hit $48.01 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.72% or 8.20 to trade at $1124.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.41% to 4.2043, while USD/PLN rose 1.01% to 3.7797.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.48% at 96.50.
