Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Motors and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.06% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 9.99% or 149.90 points to end at 1649.90 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was up 9.80% or 138.40 points to 1550.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 15.35% or 263.00 points to trade at 1450.00 at the close. PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) declined 9.09% or 0.10 points to end at 1.00 and Cargo Boat Development Company PLC (CM:CABO) was down 7.97% or 10.10 points to 116.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 134 to 86 and 15 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.60% or 0.76 to $46.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.18% or 1.14 to hit $51.07 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.26% or 2.80 to trade at $1092.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.12% to 208.710, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 133.925.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 97.59.
