Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Construction and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were FHL I Kiriakidis Marbles and Granites SA (AT:KRKr), which rose 4.44% or 0.200 points to trade at 4.700 at the close. Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) added 2.81% or 0.190 points to end at 6.940 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 2.27% or 0.020 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr), which lost 6.46% or 0.59 points to trade at 8.55 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 3.77% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.2150 and Intralot (AT:INLr) shed 3.57% or 0.040 points to 1.080.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 60 to 43 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.45% or 5.67 to $1267.77 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.58% or 1.78 to hit $47.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.52% or 1.84 to trade at $50.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 96.84.
