Investing.com – Morocco stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Holding Companies, Real Estate and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares fell 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were S2M (CS:S2M), which rose 5.84% or 10.00 points to trade at 181.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX) added 5.25% or 7.35 points to end at 147.35 and CDM (CS:CDM) was up 4.87% or 20 points to 430 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ib Maroc.Com (CS:IBMC), which fell 5.99% or 5.07 points to trade at 79.53 at the close. BMCI (CS:BMCI) declined 5.46% or 30 points to end at 515 and Alliances (CS:ADI) was down 3.69% or 1 points to 36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 22 to 19 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ib Maroc.Com (CS:IBMC) fell to 5-year lows; falling 5.99% or 5.07 to 79.53. Shares in BMCI (CS:BMCI) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.46% or 30 to 515.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.25% or 0.80 to $34.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.49% or 0.18 to hit $37.20 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 2.37% or 25.50 to trade at $1051.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.47% to 10.7390, while USD/MAD rose 0.57% to 9.9350.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 99.28.
