Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Beverage, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 4.81% or 0.31 points to trade at 6.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) added 3.58% or 3.12 points to end at 90.32 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 2.16% or 2.40 points to 113.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (BR:ELI), which rose 0.01% or 0.005 points to trade at 43.790 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 26.95 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 0.09% or 0.01 points to 15.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 97 to 51 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) rose to all time highs; rising 3.58% or 3.12 to 90.32.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.17% or 1.90 to $1086.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.74% or 1.21 to hit $43.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.74% or 1.32 to trade at $46.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.0734, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.7060.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 99.12.
