Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Telecoms and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Carrefoursa Carrefour Sabanci Ticaret Merkezi AS (IS:CRFSA), which rose 5.14% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.96 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 3.80% or 0.160 points to end at 4.370 and Halk Gmyo (IS:HLGYO) was up 2.30% or 0.020 points to 0.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which lost 2.27% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.720 in late trade. Petkim (IS:PETKM) declined 2.19% or 0.100 points to end at 4.460 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) shed 1.69% or 0.010 points to 0.580.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 169 to 152 and 84 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.40% or 5.05 to $1247.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.59% or 0.80 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.92 to trade at $51.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.55% to 3.0581, while EUR/TRY rose 0.58% to 3.4110.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.21% at 96.86.
