Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.96%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 7.78% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.097 at the close. Meanwhile, Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 6.80% or 0.007 points to end at 0.110 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 6.67% or 0.09 points to 1.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr), which fell 1.88% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.61 at the close. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 1.76% or 0.03 points to end at 1.67 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 1.18% or 0.009 points to 0.751.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 29 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.16% or 1.80 to $1117.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.10% or 0.36 to hit $33.59 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.53% or 0.88 to trade at $35.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.14% to 1.0815, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7630.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.18% at 99.78.
