Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 1.76% or 0.0200 points to trade at 1.1580 at the close. Meanwhile, J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.47% or 0.1900 points to end at 13.0950 and Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA) was up 1.40% or 0.0070 points to 0.5070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LS:BANIF), which fell 4.17% or 0.0001 points to trade at 0.0024 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) declined 1.22% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.3230 and Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) was down 0.77% or 0.0030 points to 0.3880.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 30 to 21.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 3.09% or 1.38 to $43.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.49% or 1.46 to hit $40.39 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.15% or 12.20 to trade at $1051.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.0581, while EUR/GBP rose 0.53% to 0.7088.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.44% at 100.31.
