Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.13%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.67% or 0.1070 points to trade at 4.1190 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 2.16% or 0.0180 points to end at 0.8530 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 1.14% or 0.0810 points to 7.2000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 2.39% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.3270 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 1.81% or 0.0042 points to end at 0.2280 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.28% or 0.0130 points to 1.0020.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 2.05% or 1.13 to $56.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.02% or 1.01 to hit $50.91 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 6.14 to trade at $1316.74 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.2003, while EUR/GBP fell 0.51% to 0.8838.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 91.47.
