Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Food Producers and Software & Computer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.45% or 0.09 points to trade at 3.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Randstad (AS:RAND) added 0.60% or 0.34 points to end at 56.71 and OCI (AS:OCI) was up 0.51% or 0.115 points to 22.735 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which fell 5.34% or 0.62 points to trade at 11.09 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) declined 5.07% or 0.24 points to end at 4.55 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was down 2.36% or 0.92 points to 37.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 123 to 51 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Altice NV (AS:ATCA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.34% or 0.62 to 11.09. Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; down 5.07% or 0.24 to 4.55. Shares in Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.36% or 0.92 to 37.82.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 0.62% to 23.77.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.97% or 0.36 to $36.80 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.11% or 0.45 to hit $39.66 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.54% or 5.80 to trade at $1070.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.0947, while EUR/GBP fell 0.65% to 0.7215.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 97.84.
