Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Property and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 2.27% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 6.41% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.480 at the close. Intl Container (PS:ICT) added 4.75% or 2.900 points to end at 64.000 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 4.25% or 0.150 points to 3.680 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bk Of Phi Isla (PS:BPI), which lost 1.07% or 0.90 points to trade at 83.05 in late trade. Manila Electri (PS:MER) declined 0.30% or 1.000 points to end at 331.000 and First Gen (PS:FGEN) shed 0.25% or 0.05 points to 20.35.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 111 to 61 and 26 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1231.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.31% or 0.45 to hit $33.95 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.10 to trade at $36.71 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.15% to 7.2188, while USD/PHP fell 0.13% to 47.280.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 98.41.
