Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Media and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which rose 2.05% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 1.62% or 1.09 points to end at 68.22 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was up 1.50% or 0.69 points to 46.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which fell 2.12% or 2.90 points to trade at 134.10 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.05% or 0.22 points to end at 10.50 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was down 2.01% or 0.06 points to 2.92.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 368 to 272 and 78 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 3.46% or 1.32 to $36.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 2.78% or 1.05 to hit $36.84 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.00 to trade at $1069.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.12% to 4.2431, while USD/PLN fell 0.02% to 3.8648.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.09% at 97.93.
