Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 4.06% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BR:ELI), which rose 1.58% or 0.750 points to trade at 48.250 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.03% or 0.01 points to end at 49.46 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 0.77% or 0.85 points to 109.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 11.17% or 5.060 points to trade at 40.240 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) declined 7.80% or 0.728 points to end at 8.607 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 6.82% or 2.220 points to 30.345.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 118 to 25 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.95 to $1324.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.92% or 1.39 to hit $46.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.81% or 1.38 to trade at $47.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.1024, while EUR/GBP rose 2.92% to 0.8363.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.96% at 96.55.
