Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.52% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 10.51% or 0.0290 points to trade at 0.3050 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 3.59% or 0.395 points to end at 11.395 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 1.74% or 0.0480 points to 2.8060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 2.81% or 0.410 points to trade at 14.200 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 0.84% or 0.0590 points to end at 6.9910 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.72% or 0.0070 points to 0.9720.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was up 0.12% or 0.06 to $50.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $47.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.58% or 7.32 to trade at $1249.68 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.0917, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8457.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 98.95.
