Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which rose 4.10% or 0.0186 points to trade at 0.4719 at the close. Recordati (MI:RECI) added 2.16% or 0.61 points to end at 28.87 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 1.75% or 0.230 points to 13.360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which lost 3.45% or 0.166 points to trade at 4.644 in late trade. UBI Banca (MI:UBI) declined 2.44% or 0.0780 points to end at 3.1240 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) shed 2.24% or 0.2900 points to 12.6300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 174 to 158 and 15 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.32% or 0.17 to $52.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.74% or 0.41 to hit $55.34 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.35 to trade at $1241.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.0662, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8544.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 100.54.
