Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food, Basic Resources and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 8.13% or 0.039 points to trade at 0.519 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) added 4.55% or 0.01 points to end at 0.23 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was up 3.09% or 0.57 points to 19.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which lost 7.65% or 0.029 points to trade at 0.350 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 3.36% or 0.1200 points to end at 3.4500 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) shed 2.73% or 0.030 points to 1.070.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 47 to 41 and 27 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.82% or 10.05 to $1243.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.41% or 0.22 to hit $52.89 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.37 to trade at $55.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.0675, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8543.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 100.44.
