Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 4.35% or 1.000 points to trade at 24.000 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 3.66% or 0.030 points to end at 0.850 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 3.64% or 0.020 points to 0.570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which lost 1.71% or 0.67 points to trade at 38.48 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 1.61% or 0.050 points to end at 3.050 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 1.31% or 0.180 points to 13.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 6 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.56% or 0.30 to $53.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.42% or 0.24 to hit $56.80 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.95 to trade at $1221.35 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.45% to 3.2595, while EUR/PEN fell 1.02% to 3.4858.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 99.72.
