Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Media and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 2.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 1.64% or 96.35 points to trade at 5976.35 at the close. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 0.62% or 0.43 points to end at 69.93 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was down 0.04% or 0.01 points to 27.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 7.20% or 4.50 points to trade at 58.00 in late trade. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 5.91% or 0.280 points to end at 4.460 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 5.00% or 1.21 points to 23.01.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 382 to 170 and 169 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.17% or 1.48 to $45.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.14% or 1.51 to hit $46.63 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.42% or 18.35 to trade at $1306.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.48% to 4.3219, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 3.8883.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.53% at 97.24.
