Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.10%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Valeo SA (PA:VLOF), which rose 1.70% or 0.87 points to trade at 51.93 at the close. Renault SA (PA:RENA) added 1.26% or 0.91 points to end at 73.14 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 1.21% or 2.15 points to 179.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 1.84% or 0.102 points to trade at 5.448 in late trade. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 1.17% or 0.50 points to end at 42.17 and Lafargeholcim Ltd (PA:LHN) shed 0.96% or 0.47 points to 48.05.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were STMicroelectronics (PA:STM) which rose 3.95% to 7.266, Innate Pharma (PA:IPH) which was up 2.13% to settle at 11.010 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 2.00% to close at 34.90.
The worst performers were Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was down 2.94% to 14.70 in late trade, GTT (PA:GTT) which lost 2.67% to settle at 25.71 and Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) which was down 2.48% to 13.160 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 374 to 304 and 115 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.60% to 19.28.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.38% or 5.00 to $1321.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.56% or 0.27 to hit $48.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.21 to trade at $50.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1239, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8650.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.33.
