Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were B. Sabadell (MC:SABE), which rose 2.08% or 0.024 points to trade at 1.180 at the close. Int.Airl.Grp (MC:ICAG) added 1.78% or 0.079 points to end at 4.528 and Banco Popular (MC:POP) was up 1.59% or 0.018 points to 1.151 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which lost 2.21% or 0.127 points to trade at 5.606 in late trade. Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE) declined 1.24% or 0.410 points to end at 32.635 and Gas Natural (MC:GAS) shed 0.90% or 0.165 points to 18.120.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 89 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.75 to $1343.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.91% or 1.43 to hit $47.68 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.95% or 1.50 to trade at $49.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1317, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.8614.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 94.54.
