Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Footwear & Textile and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were eChannelling PLC (CM:ECL), which rose 19.23% or 1.50 points to trade at 9.30 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 11.03% or 137.90 points to 1388.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which lost 8.00% or 8.00 points to trade at 92.00 in late trade. Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV) declined 6.87% or 4.80 points to end at 65.10 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) shed 6.82% or 1.20 points to 16.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 99 to 86 and 48 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.85% or 1.40 to $47.71 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 3.24% or 1.65 to hit $49.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.49% or 6.55 to trade at $1339.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.20% to 190.455, while USD/LKR rose 0.25% to 145.815.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 94.73.
