Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.07% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 7.69% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 6.62% or 0.920 points to end at 14.820 and Milpo (LM:MIL) was up 6.33% or 0.150 points to 2.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which lost 4.53% or 1.20 points to trade at 25.30 in late trade. Ferreyros (LM:FER) declined 1.84% or 0.030 points to end at 1.600 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 1.59% or 0.010 points to 0.620.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 7 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.70% or 1.54 to $40.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $42.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.30 to trade at $1359.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3410, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7487.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 95.75.
