Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 0.67% or 0.03 points to trade at 5.09 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) added 0.57% or 0.21 points to end at 37.33 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 0.56% or 0.17 points to 30.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vopak (AS:VOPA), which lost 3.45% or 1.65 points to trade at 46.00 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 2.05% or 0.28 points to end at 13.61 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) shed 1.75% or 1.13 points to 63.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 115 to 49 and 11 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.35% to 18.80.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.62% or 0.70 to $43.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.73% or 0.77 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.25% or 15.60 to trade at $1234.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.93% to 0.7808.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 95.11.
